Desktop Connector vs External Resource

Understand when to use External Resource 𝙤𝙧 Desktop Connector when linking in Revit 🤔

1️⃣ 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲:
Recommended when linking Revit models (workshared & non-workshared on the Cloud) into your Revit project. This is the default file path when importing and linking.

2️⃣ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿:
Creates a connection between BIM 360 & ACC projects and your local file explorer. This should be used when linking non-Revit file types (such as PDF, DWG, TXT, PNG, etc.).
